Gooch & Housego’s TFB-X tapered fiber bundle series of power combiners with passive or active signal feed-through provide a high-efficiency means of combining light from several multi mode (MM) sources into one fiber.
Gooch & Housego (G&H) proprietary manufacturing techniques allow the precise fusion of multi mode pump fibers to a signal feedthrough fiber and a dual clad, multi mode (MM), single mode (SM) or polarization maintaining (PM) output fiber. This provides high coupling efficiency over a wide pump wavelength range.
Active signal feed-through types feature inclusion of the splice between the passive and active signal fiber within the combiner housing, removing the need for an external splice and thus reducing potential back-scatter to the pump sources.
Available in standard (2+1)x1 or (6+1)x1 configurations, the TFB-X series combiners can be fabricated from a range of industry standard fibers for ease of splicing to commercially available laser diodes, signal and gain fibers. Custom variants using non-standard fibers including large mode area (LMA), large diameter (LDF) and active signal feed-through fibers are available on request, please contact AMS Technologies with your specific requirements.
