Light Weight Cold Plates for Low to Medium Power Densities

Product information "Light Weight Cold Plates for Low to Medium Power Densities"

Plate Thickness 4 mm; 4 kg/m² to 9 kg/m²; Surface Flatness app. 0.2 mm

These very cost-effective cold plates are ideal for battery cooling in automotive and traction as well as many other industrial applications. They are made of aluminium sheets and despite their low weight have a uniform temperature distribution, with temperature differences of about 3 K across the surface of the cold plate.

High efficiency, model flexibility and excellent corrosion protection are further advantages of these cold plates that are produced in a special process allowing for particularly low pressure drop values to be achieved. Either a mixture of water and ethylene glycol or industrial refrigerants such as HFC 134a or R600a can be used as coolants.

On the manufacturer's special machines, light weight cold plates with a width of up to 550 mm and a maximum length of 2500 mm can be produced as single pieces or in large series quantities. Each model is custom designed to meet the requirements of your project. Our thermal management specialists will be happy to support you with the design and simulation of your custom solution based on our light weight cold plates – contact us today!

CP10/CP12/CP15 Tubed Cold Plates
Press-Lock Technology; Thermal Performance 0.004 to 0.059 °C/W; Max. Pressure 10 bar; Max. Flow Rate 4, 8 l/min; Straight Fittings Lytron’s CP10/CP12/CP15 series of standard tubed cold plates provide cost-effective thermal solutions for component cooling applications where the heat load is low-to-moderate. These tubed cold plates consist of copper or stainless steel tubes pressed into a channeled aluminum extrusion. The CP10/CP12/CP15 series of tubed cold plates is manufactured using Lytron’s proprietary Press-Lock technology, which mechanically locks the tubes into the aluminum plate. Press-Lock technology eliminates the need for performance-limiting epoxy between the tube and the plate, resulting in superior thermal performance. Compared to similar tubed cold plates, the CP12 cold plate offers 30% better performance and the CP15 offers 40% to 50% better performance. Copper tubes are compatible with water and most other common coolants, while stainless steel tubes (CP10 only) can be used with deionized water or corrosive fluids. Each tubed cold plate has a single tube with no joint, ensuring leak-free operation. The tubes of the CP12 and CP15 cold plates are coplanar with the plate to allow for dual-sided mounting. The cold plate's tube side offers higher performance as the copper tubes are in direct contact with the component being cooled. CP10 models are available with 9.5 mm copper and stainless steel tubes in 2-pass or 4-pass configuration for single-sided mounting. CP12 models are available with 9.5 mm copper tubes in 4-pass configuration for dual-sided mounting. CP15 models are available with 6.4 mm copper tubes in 6-pass configuration for dual-sided mounting. If you can’t find a tubed cold plate that meets your requirements, please get in touch with the AMS Technologies thermal technology experts to discuss your customized solution! Key Features: Thermal Performance: 0.004 to 0.059 °C/W @ 7.6 l/min (3.8 l/min for CP15) Fluid Compatibility: Water, Common Coolants (Copper Tubes); Deionized Water, Corrosive Fluids (Stainless Steel Tubes) Configuration: 2-pass (CP 10), 4-pass (CP10, CP12), 6-pass (CP15) Mounting Surface: Single Sided (CP 10), Double Sided (CP12, CP15) Tube Diameter: 9.5 mm (CP10, CP12), 6.4 mm (CP15) Fitting: Straight Plate Material: Aluminium Maximum Pressure: 10 bar Maximum Flow Rate: 8 l/min, 4 l/min (CP 15) Applications: Component Cooling Where the Heat Load is Low-to-moderate

HTC Series TEC Temperature Controllers
Output Current TEC ±1.5, ±3, ±4 A; PCB Mount; Supply Voltage 5-12 VDC; Temperature Stability 0.0009°C With its advanced and reliable circuitry, Wavelength Electronics’ HTC series of component type TEC temperature controllers achieves 0.0009°C temperature stability. Its low-profile package is ideal for designs with space constraints and can be mounted in a number of different ways. The HTC can be electrically connected to a PCB or by using a SIP connector and cable. The heatsink can be bolted directly to the HTC series device, or the device can be bolted directly to the equipment chassis to maximize space efficiency. The ultra-stable linear, PI control loop offers maximum stability, while the bipolar current source has been designed for higher efficiency. The HTC series drives up to ±4.0 A for either thermoelectrics (bipolar) or resistive heaters (unipolar). Three maximum output current ranges are available: ±1.5, ±3 and ±4 A. While regular drivers for 1.5 and 3 A are designed for 0.031 inch (0.79 mm) thick printed circuit boards (PCBs), each of the models (including drivers for 4 A) is also available as a “HTCxxoo-62” variant, suitable for mounting on 0.062 inch (1.57 mm) thick PCBs. The HTC Series TEC temperature controllers are easily configured for any design. Virtually any type of temperature sensor can be used with the HTC, and a built-in sensor bias current source simplifies use with resistive temperature sensors. The independently adjustable proportional gain (P) and integrator time constant (I) can be modified to optimize temperature overshoot and stability. Other features offer added flexibility. A single resistor sets the maximum output current to load. Add a diode to operate resistive heaters with a unipolar output current. An onboard reference voltage simplifies potentiometer control of the temperature setpoint. You can also choose to operate remotely with an external setpoint voltage. Two monitor pins provide access to the temperature setpoint voltage and the actual sensor voltage. Free, effective and responsive technical support is available to simplify integration of Wavelength products into your OEM design. Standard products can be easily modified to meet your application requirements. Get in touch with the AMS Technologies TEC Temperature Controllers experts to discuss your customized solution!
