Mightex’s BLS-Series LED controllers are designed for driving Mightex LED light sources, including Type-H super high power LED light sources (BLS-13000 and BLS-18000 models). All BLS-Series LED controllers have two operation modes: 

  • Manual Mode: the user can control the output current by manually turning a knob
  • Trigger Mode: the output current can be controlled via an external analog input signal between 0 V and 5 V

The control mode is selected with a slide switch on the front panel, and the factory default is “manual” mode.

High-speed, two-channel models BLS-1000-2 and BLS-3000-2 feature a high modulation speed of up to 100 kHz for BLS-1000-2 and up to 50 kHz for BLS-300-2. High-current, single-channel models BLS-13000 and BLS-18000 feature maximum output driving currents of 13,000 mA (BLS-13000) and 18,000 mA (BLS-18000) with a modulation speed of 3 kHz.

BLS-1000-2 and BLS-3000-2 provide DIP switches for maximum current selection on the rear panel, which allow the user to set the maximum output current of the channel to 500/750/1,000 mA for BLS-1000-2, and 1,000/2,000/3,000 mA for BLS-3000-2, respectively. The factory default is set to 500 mA for BLS-1000-2 and 1,000 mA for BLS-3000-2, respectively.

When the LED controller is set to “trigger” mode, the output current is fully controlled by the input analog signal (0-5 V).

Mightex’s BLS-Series of manual and trigger mode LED controllers currently include five models in total:

Super High-power LCS-Series Collimated LED Light Sources

Output Power 260-3,500 mW Mightex has added Type-H and Type-J super high-power collimator LED light sources with 30 to 106 W emitters to the LCS-Series of collimated LED light sources. These collimator light sources produce a market-leading optical power output of up to 3.5 W, which is up to 5 times from Mightex’s existing high-power Type-B collimator LED light sources. Four mechanically differing sub-series with clear apertures of 11, 22, 38 and 48 mm are available. The LED emitters are mounted directly onto the metal base of the collimator which also features an integrated heat sink and a cooling fan (Type-H models only). This configuration minimizes thermal resistance between the LED emitter and the heat sink resulting in better heat dissipation. The collimating lens can be adjusted if needed for precise collimation. A locking ring fixes the lens position after adjustment. The collimators have been pre-adjusted in the factory. The new Type-H and Type-J super high-power LCS collimated LED light sources are larger in dimensions compared with existing Type-A and Type-B LCS light sources. Please examine the installation drawings carefully. Power supply for the cooling fan is included in the price of the Type-H super high-power LCS collimated LED light sources. The LED collimators include a 1.5-meter cable with two bare-wire terminals at the end. The light sources can be driven by Mightex LED controllers or other LED controllers and current sources. Super high-power LCS-Series collimated LED light sources are compatible with a large number of optical accessories/adapters: An optional focusing module can be mounted on the front of the LED collimator to focus light into a tight spot which is an image of the LED emitter. This is useful for application requiring very high optical density such as fluorescence spectroscopy, or to focus LED light into a fiber or a lightguide. An optional lightguide adapter is also available to couple the LED light into a lightguide with high efficiency. Additional interchangeable collimating lenses are available to produce different beam sizes with the same light source. Accessories for Lightguide-coupled LED Light Sources
Accessories for Mightex’s GCS-Series of lightguide-coupled LED light sources comprise an electrical cable (product number ACC-GCS-C05), a heatsink for 3 mm core liquid lightguides (product number ACC-LLG-HS-03), a range of liquid lightguides and lightguide adapters as well as lightguide collimators. Nine different LLG liquid lightguides are available in three wavelength ranges (300 to 650 nm, 340 to 800 nm and 420 to 2000 nm), with 3 or 5 mm core for 5 or 7 mm ferrule diameters respectively, a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.59 and lengths of 1 or 2 m. Four different lightguide adapters for Type-A GCS-Series lightguide-coupled LED light sources are available.
