Accessories for Mightex’s GCS-Series of lightguide-coupled LED light sources comprise an electrical cable (product number ACC-GCS-C05), a heatsink for 3 mm core liquid lightguides (product number ACC-LLG-HS-03), a range of liquid lightguides and lightguide adapters as well as lightguide collimators.

  • Four different lightguide adapters for Type-A GCS-Series lightguide-coupled LED light sources are available. Each Type-A GCS device comes with a standard lightguide adapter for 5 mm diameter ferrule (A0510). Other adapters (as well as additional standard adapters) can be purchased separately, for lightguides with ferrule diameters of 5, 6, 7 or 8 mm and ferrule lengths of 10 mm or greater.   • Four different lightguide collimators are used to either couple light from free space into a lightguide or collimate light from a lightguide to form a collimated (parallel) optical beam. Lightguide collimators are key components with numerous applications. For example, a lightguide collimator can project light from a lightguide into a uniform spot in free space.High-numerical-aperture aspherical lenses are used for precise collimation and maximum light throughput. The collimators feature adjustable focus from ~100 mm to infinity. Various lightguide ferrule diameters are supported. Customization is available for other ferrule diameters. Accessories for Mightex LED light sources comprise lightguide collimators, dedicated focusing modules for collimated LED light sources, various cables, fiber-optic adapters, microscope illumination tubes, connector tubes for LCS-Series light sources, a thread converter, empty filter/optics holders, a lightguide holder for converting Type-B LCS into Type-B GCS as well as accessories for beam combiners like a push-pull adjustable mount, a 11 mm LCS adapter or connecting plates. Four different lightguide collimators are used to either couple light from free space into a lightguide or collimate light from a lightguide to form a collimated (parallel) optical beam. Six different ACC-LCS-F-xx focusing modules for collimated LED light sources are available, comprising modules for 11 to 48 mm clear-aperture collimated LED light sources with working distances from 5 to 100 mm. Four different cables are available for FCS-, FFC-, GCS-, WFC- and WLS-Series LED light sources. Some cables feature push-pull connectors and/or are suitable for 4-channel light sources. A LCS-FPC-ADP-SMA fiber-optic adapter can be used to couple light from a LCS-Series collimated LED light source (22-mm aperture) into a fiber patchcord and accepts SMA connectorized fiber patchcords. Three different ACC-BC25-MIT-xxx microscope illumination tubes allow to couple a beam combiner or LCS-Series collimated LED light source into the infinity optical path of microscopes. The lengths of these microsope illumination tubes are designed for one beam-combiner distance (up to two LCS sources) or two beam-combiner distances (up to four LCS sources). Three different ACC-LCS-xxx connector tubes for LCS-Series collimated LED light sources are available, comprising a male-to-male C-mount connector with inner threads, a female-to-female C-mount connector with outer threads and a 15 mm extension tube for 22 mm clear-aperture LCS-Series light sources. Two different empty filter/optics holders for 22 mm clear-aperture collimated LED light sources are available (ACC-LCS-H-22, ACC-LCS-EH). Both are excitation filter holders for 25.4 mm (1”) diameter filters with up to 5 mm thickness, with ACC-LCS-EH featuring a threaded output end to connect to Mightex LCS-LGA22-xxx lightguide adapters or ACC-BC25-xxx microscope adapters. Mightex’s GCS-LGH-B-0515 lightguide holder is used to replace the collimating lens on a Type-B LCS in order to convert it to a Type-B GCS. This holder is suitable for lightguides with a ferrule diameter of 5 mm (typical 3-mm-core lightguides) and a ferrule length of 15 mm or greater. Mightex’s ACC-LCS-BC25-PPM push-pull mount for multi-wavelength beam combiners is user-adjustable. Currently, Mightex’s multi-wavelength beam combiners can only be used to directly combine 22-mm-diameter collimated LED light sources. For 11-mm-diameter collimated LED light sources, an ACC-BC25-011 mechanical adapter can be used to attach the LED sources to the beam combiners, before the 11-mm-diameter collimated LED sources can be combined. Three different ACC-BC25-CP-01/02/03 connecting plates are available to connect two or more multi-wavelength beam combiners together, with four screws included. EPIGAP Optronic provides the EOLC series of high-end LED chips from 355 nm in the UV range up to 1720 nm in the infrared range with high efficiency and very good degradation stability These LED chips with chip sizes from 265 x 265 μm to 365 x 365 μm feature a low variance of optical and electrical parameters. FCS-Series High-power Fiber-coupled LED Light Sources
