3SAE Technologies’ high strength and high strength adjustable thermal strippers are compact, easy-to-use ­fiber stripping units designed to thermo-mechanically remove coatings from optical fibers.

The high strength thermal stripper supports standard 125 μm optical fibers, including 250, 400 and 900 μm coated fibers. Adjustable temperature and time settings allow it to adapt to stripping a variety of different coatings. The precision, self-centering blade design produces high-strength stripping performance unmatched by previous flat blade strippers.

The high strength adjustable thermal stripper supports optical fibers with cladding diameters from 30 to 1,000 μm, with buffer diameters up to 1,200 μm. This includes standard 250, 400 and 900 μm coated fibers. Adjustable temperature and time settings allow it to adapt to stripping a variety of different coatings and cladding sizes.

Both high strength and high strength adjustable thermal strippers are also available with an extended rail which provides extended stroke for stripping fibers up to 225 mm for various applications including gratings, couplers and combiners.

3SAE Technologies' complete line of preparation tools, including the 3SAE Technologies thermal strippers, are configurable for use with Fitel, Fujikura, 3SAE Technologies or Ericsson fiber holders. Use of fiber holders provides a repeatable handling process across strip, clean, cleave and splice equipment for high-strength splicing and improved yield.

3SAE Technologies' complete line of fiber holder compatible preparation tools incorporates the thermal strippers, USC Ultrasonic Cleaner and fiber cleavers.

Using the CSL, fiber bundles can be loaded into a capillary with as little as 10 μm of air gap between the bundle and the capillary. The CSL utilizes a funnel shaped capillary to hold the capillary during the fiber loading process. The system uses an ultrasonic cleaner in conjunction with acetone or chemical of choice, to lubricate and remove static from the fibers during the loading stage. The ultrasonic cleaner features one touch operation with a user adjustable cycle and visual and audible notifications. Two individual reservoirs facilitate separate cleaning and loading stages. The CSL also includes an onboard heater to expedite the evaporation process of the acetone after loading. The CSL Capillary Speed Loader includes standard fixturing for 700 μm and 870 μm outer diameter capillaries. Custom sizes are available on request.
