Combining a 2A current driver for a laser diode, SLED, SOA or a similar device with a TEC controller capable of driving up to 4A of TEC current in a compact, self-contained enclosure, the “cLDD” device (compact Laser Diode Driver) is an all-in-one unit designed for convenience of use. It can be operated remotely via USB using a software control application with graphical user interface for real-time device monitoring, control and data logging. Once configured, the cLDD may also be operated stand-alone (disconnected from the computer), and operating parameters may be changed via the cLDD keypad. The cLDD base unit is shipped with USB cable, software control application and power supply (country-specific AC power cord not included). For operation of the device, at least one of two user-interchangeable mounts has to be selected and ordered separately: 1) 14-pin butterfly mount, provided with adapter boards for Type 1, Type 2 and customizable laser diode pinouts, or 2) DIL mount.
