Typical applications are collimating or focusing (laser) beams, but also coupling quantum cascade lasers (QCL). With their large numerical apertures, these precision molded infrared aspheric lenses provide optimum collection of light for infrared lasers (short wave (SWIR), mid wave (MWIR) and long wave (LWIR) types), as well as quantum cascade lasers (QCL). Two types of chalcogenide glass are available: GH6, made from As40Se60 material, is most popular and widely used. This material is comparable to infrared glass of other leading brands in the market, features high transmission, is Ge free and RoHS compliant and can be molded, grinded and polished. GH2, made from Ge28Sb12Se60 material, is especially suitable for collimating lenses, gas testing and coupling of quantum cascade lasers (QCL). This material also is comparable to infrared glass of other leading brands in the market, featuring high transmission and RoHS compliance. Lenses made from this material can be molded, grinded and polished and are suitable for high-temperature applications.
