Fiber optic assemblies available from AMS Technologies include an optical fiber or fiber cable, assembled with specialized optical connectors and/or further fiber components like fiber WDMs, combiners, splitters or couplers, collimators, focusers, attenuators or filters – just to name a few.Complementing our single fiber cable offering, we carry fibers assembled with rotary joints as well as high-power laser cables in single and double versions. And our series of high power laser assemblies uses high-power SMA and high-power industrial FD-80 connectors to provide a fiber optic link between the laser source and the target. These assemblies are ideal for laser cutting, welding, drilling, and marking applications.
Shaped fiber tip assemblies are available in standard configurations like angled, ball, radiused, conical, chisel or diffuser tips, as well as custom designed shaped tip fiber assemblies for optimum control over beam delivery and/or increased efficiency of light collection. Our end capped high-power fiber optic assemblies allow higher power coupled into a fiber core by reducing the power density at the air/silica interface, commonly the point of laser damage.
Our fiber optic assemblies are designed and manufactured using a broad variety of optical fiber types, ranging from pure silica (core and clad) or silica core / plastic clad fibers to borosilicate glass fibers, plastic optical fibers, fluoride fibers, chalcogenide fibers, doped fibers or polarization maintaining fibers with a choice of numerical apertures – equipped with custom and standard end-fittings and outer jackets to tailor a fiber optic assembly to the customer’s technical and economic requirements.
Additionally, an assembly’s fiber can be metal (aluminium or gold) coated for high-temperature applications, or its end-face can be equipped on demand with anti-reflective technology like the patented RARe Motheye technology that enhances fiber transmission performance and significantly increases the damage threshold over a large wavelength range.
