The robust circuitry of Wavelength Electronics’ PID1500 series of TEC temperature controllers provides ultra-stable, low noise temperature control from a single output DC supply, achieving 0.003 °C temperature stability. Onboard controls make this package plug and play.

The linear, PI control loop offers maximum stability, while the bipolar current source has been designed for higher efficiency. The PID1500 series drives up to 1.5 A for either thermoelectrics (bipolar) or resistive heaters (unipolar). An evaluation board simplifies prototyping. Heatsinking is already provided to support operation across a -20 to +85 °C operating range. The integral heatsink can be removed to mount the module to a system chassis.

The PID1500 series of TEC temperature controllers is easily configured for any design. Virtually any type of temperature sensor can be used, and a built-in switchable sensor bias current source simplifies use with resistive temperature sensors. The Proportional Gain (P) is adjustable with an onboard single turn trimpot.

Use an onboard trimpot to adjust the setpoint or the Analog Input pin for remote control. Use another onboard trimpot to set the maximum output current to the load or set it with a resistor between pins 1 & 2. A switch between those pins acts as a remote enable / disable. Remove a jumper to operate resistive heaters with a unipolar output current. Two monitor pins provide access to the temperature setpoint voltage and the actual sensor voltage.

The WTC3293-14001 is a mini-instrument temperature controller with a temperature (not resistance) display and onboard adjustments.Wrapped around the precision WTC3243 temperature controller, it is configured for use with a TCS610 thermistor. Wire your thermoelectric cooler and thermistor to the board with the cable provided. Add the appropriate DC power supply and indicate the input voltage on the jumper. With the output disabled, adjust the on-board 12-turn trimpot and watch the setpoint temperature change on the  4-digit display. Switch to Actual temperature and display your thermistor temperature. Watch the LED tree to see "over/under temperature" or "stable at setpoint" status. The WHY5640 is a general purpose, low cost, analog PI (Proportional, Integral) control loop for use in thermoelectric or resistive heater temperature control applications. The WHY5640 maintains  precision temperature regulation using an active resistor bridge circuit that operates directly with thermistors or RTD temperature sensors. Supply up to 2.2 Amps of heat and cool current to your thermoelectric from a single power supply.
