With the EXS series, EXALOS offers a wide variety of standard superluminescent light emitting diode (SLED or SLD) modules covering near-infrared and RGB (red, green, blue) ranges. EXS series SLED modules are available at different wavelengths ranging from 400 to 1700 nm, with different output power and bandwidth values.

EXALOS’ high-performance SLEDs come in various packages including cooled 14-pin dual-in-line (DIL) and butterfly package, cooled and uncooled 5-pin butterfly packages or low-cost uncooled TOSA and TO-56 packages.

During operation, both the current and temperature are controlled for power and spectral stabilities. The output power and diode temperature are stabilized to 0.02 dB and 0.05 °C, respectively. The light source has three available operation modes: constant current, constant power (optional), and modulated power. The modulation can be either external or internal, with different waveforms (sine or square) and different speeds (up to 100 kHz). Customers can select either low or high degree of polarization (DOP) options for specific applications. Other user-selectable options include output fiber type (SM or PM), center wavelength, spectral width and output power. GCS-Series High-power Lightguide-coupled LED Light Sources
LED Module; 340-980 nm; Typical Radiant Flux 12-2,200 mW; Iop 0.35-18 A; Vop 1.4-15.5 V Mightex’s GCS-Series of high-power lightguide-coupled LED light sources are designed for high-efficiency coupling of LED light into a liquid lightguide (LLG) or a fiber optic bundle. Virtually all lightguides with core diameters ranging from 3 to 8 mm can be used with the GCS-Series light sources. Please note that lightguides and adapters as well as lightguide collimators are sold separately. GCS-Series lightguide-coupled LED light sources also feature a locking electrical connector for secured connection. The devices are designed as a universal light source for general lab use and OEM applications. Their one-piece machined aluminium alloy housing features integrated heatsinks and multiple mounting holes. Multi-chip LED emitters have been added to the product portfolio (Type-B). Some of these 7 to 15 W LEDs have a total optical power exceeding 1 W, quadrupling the power of a single-chip LED (Type-A). Models with higher powers (i.e. Type-B with 7 W and higher) feature a cooling fan and have a different form factor compared to other models. Please examine the installation drawings in the downloadable datasheet carefully. Power supply for the cooling fan is included in the price of the LED light sources. All Mightex LED controllers such as software-controlled LED controllers like the SLC-Series , manual LED controllers like the SLA-Series or other LED drivers and current sources can be used to drive the GCS-Series light sources.
