Excelitas’ TPiL/TPL CoolEYE thermopile IR imager line array family includes three versions for various non-contact temperature measurement applications. Based on Excelitas’ thermopile technology, these IR line arrays feature a sensing chip and a robust metal housing with focusing lens

All TPiL/TPL CoolEYE IR line arrays are provided as plug-and-play modules, consisting of an array sensor with multiplexed output signal which is transferred into a calibrated signal by a microprocessor located on a compact PCB. The microprocessor acts as the SMBus interface, and the PCB features a plug-and-play connector for streamlined plug-and-play integration.

Exelitas offers 8-pixel, 16-pixel and 32-pixel linear IR imager array modules with multiplexed output signal, supplying a calibrated signal on module board via SM Bus interface. These IR line arrays provide field-proven effectiveness in scanning presence detection, non-contact temperature measurement, smart-home products, and office electronics. Custom solutions also available upon request – get in touch with the AMS Technologies IR line array experts to discuss your customized solution exactly matching your project’s requirements.

TPL 32C 3774 L4.7 CoolEYE is an IR line array sensor of 32 pixels with multiplexed output signal, supplying a calibrated signal on module board via SM Bus interface, and represents the improved version of TPL 32C modules for non-contact temperature measurement and scanning applications. It is featured by parallel read out and as such is much faster in response.

The new module consists of an improved new array sensor and small microprocessor which provides for a calibrated temperature output signal and is designed to measure temperatures up to +60 °C. As standard calibration, Excelitas provides TPL 32C 3774 L4.7 A60 P7 for temperature measurements up to +60 °C

The Excelitas CoolEYE thermopile line array family includes TPiL 16T 3446 L3.9 CoolEYE and TpiL 16T 3546 L3.9 CoolEYE which feature an IR line array sensor of 16 pixels with multiplexed output signal, supplying a calibrated signal on module board via SM Bus interface. As standard calibration, Excelitas provides TpiL 16T 3446 L3.9 A250 P8 for temperature measurements up to +250 °C and TpiL 16T 3546 L3.9 A060 P8 for temperature measurements up to +60 °C.

Excelitas’ CoolEYE thermopile line array family also includes TpiL 08T 2246 L3.9 CoolEYE, a line array sensor of 8 pixels with multiplexed output signal, supplying a calibrated signal on module board via SM Bus interface. Custom versions may be enquired as potential options. As standard calibration, Excelitas provides TpiL 8T 2246 L3.9 A60 P8 for temperature measurements up to +60 °C

Object Temperature Range 0-+60, 0-+120 °C; Sensing Range 60 °C; FoV 22°; Signal Refresh Time 400 ms; Operating Temperature Range -25-+100 °C; SMBus Digital InterfaceExcelitas’ TPiA 4.4T 4246 L3.9 CoolEYE IR 2D array module is a small infrared array offering 16 (4x4) pixels including a small IR transmissive lens and the thermopile sensor. A microprocessor on the module board provides for a calibrated signal and digital SMB bus interface. All Excelitas CoolEYE arrays are offered as plug-and-play modules featuring a sensing chip, robust metal housing with focusing lens, a PCB with microprocessor for calibration and bus interface and a 4-pin quick connector for streamlined integration. In many applications, the employment of a multi-pixel sensor provides advantages over single-pixel measurement. A single-pixel IR-sensor delivers an average temperature over the measurement area, while a finer spatial temperature resolution can be obtained when using a multi-pixel (array) sensor. With its 4x4 pixels, this small TPiA 4.4T 4246 L3.9 CoolEYE infrared array sensor offers the benefits of easy signal processing with some form of low spatial infrared resolution at low cost. As standard calibration, Excelitas provides TPiA 4.4T 4246 L3.9 A60 P8 for temperature measurements up to +60 °C and TPiA 4.4T 4646 L3.9 A60 P8 for temperature measurements up to +120 °C.Typical applications for this IR 2D array module are:Room Climate Control: A multi-pixel sensor controls HVAC equipment or a thermostat by measuring the temperature in different zones of a room. The sensor signals are used to direct warm or cold air into the respective areas or to control the water flow in different sections of a floor or wall heater/cooler.Fire and Overheat Detection: IR Thermopiles, more specifically multi-pixel sensors, when integrated with a smoke detector, help to detect hot spots in a room. An emerging application is thermopile arrays combined with a surveillance camera to detect indoor or outdoor fires. Similarly, these sensors are also used in cooking ranges to monitor oven temperature and provide overheating protection.Elevated Skin Temperature (EST) Screening: A 2-dimensional (4 x 4 pixel) array is preferred for use in measuring temperature distribution of the facial skin temperature for fixed installations or portable equipment.Presence and Motion Detection: Multi-pixel sensors allow the detection of people moving through a room including direction of movement and approximate number of people.Key Features:Digital SMBus InterfaceFactory CalibrationAmbient Temperature OutputLow CostObject Temperature Range: 0 to +60 °C (4246), 0 to +120 °C (4646)Operating Voltage: 4.5 to 5.5 VSupply Current: 5 mAOperating Temperature Range: -25 to +100 °CSensing Range: 60 °CField-of-view (FoV) X: 22° (pk to pk), Entire SensorField-of-view (FoV) Y: 22° (pk to pk), Entire SensorSignal Refresh Time: 400 msDimensions: 21.8 x 14 x 14.5 mmApplications: Presence & Motion Detection and Automatic Processing; Non-Contact Temperature Measurement; Elevated Skin Temperature (EST) Screening; Smart Home Applications; Fire and Overheat Detection; Room Climate ControlPlease note that Excelitas products are available from us only in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
