WEV302 Thermal Solution Kit
The WEV302 thermal solution kit can be used with following laser diode drivers and temperature controllers from Wavelength Electronics: WTCP5V5A, WTC3243, WTC3243HB, WHY5640, WLD3343, WLD3343-2L, WLD3343-3A, WLD3343-3L or WLD3343HB. The controllers operate to 500 mA without any additional heatsinking (assuming 5 V operation). To operate up to 1 A, add the WTW002 thermal washer and the WHS302 heatsink. To operate to the full 2.2 A, add a fan WXC303 (5 V) or WXC304 (12 V). For convenience, a kit with two 0.75" and two 1" screws is available: WXC305. The WEV302 includes the WTW002 thermal washer, the WHS302 heatsink, the WXC305 screw kit, and a +12 V fan WXC304. The WTC3243 is a compact, analog PI (Proportional, Integral) control loop circuit optimized for use in ultrastable thermoelectric temperature control applications. It easily handles variable operating conditions with a stability of better than 0.0009 ºC. The temperature setpoint is set by a remote voltage signal. It is capable of controlling both thermoelectric and resistive heaters, and only five external resistors are needed to optimize the controller for your specific application. The WTC3293 Evaluation Board is available to quickly integrate the WTC3243 into your system and can be optimized for sensor type. Use the adjustable trimpots to configure heat and cool current limits, proportional gain, and integrator time constant. The robust and reliable WTC3243 has been designed into electro-optical systems, airborne instrumentation, spectroscopic monitors, and medical diagnostic equipment. It is particularly well-suited to applications where temperature is scanned across ambient.
