Wavelength Electronics’ PLDxK-CH series of module type laser diode drivers deliver reliability and p LD into your system. Tens of thousands of PLDxK-CH series laser diode drivers are deployed in n erformance in a compact chassis mount package. Modular packaging makes it easy to integrate the Pumerous applications, proving beyond doubt the reliability and stability of the design.
Within the CE certified PLDxK-CH series, models with 5, 10 or 12.5 A laser diode output current are available. PLD5K-CH and PLD10K-CH operate from a single 5 V power supply. For applications that require a higher forward voltage, like high compliance lasers or multiple stacked lasers, a separate laser diode power supply input lets you provide a higher compliance voltage. For PLD12.5K-CH, one power supply is required for the internal electronics and a separate supply is required to power the laser diode.

The PLDxK-CH series features two photodiode ranges, providing variable sensitivities for optimum operation. You can maintain excellent stability when operating in both constant current and constant power mode. All trimpots and switches are easily accessible and offer precision control. A slow start circuit, mechanical shorting relay, and active current limit offer maximum protection for your laser diode even when power is removed.
The PLDxK-CH series includes user adjustments and status indicators. Onboard trimpots set current limit and current setpoint. Alternately, you can use the modulation / remote input for laser driver current setpoint. An LED indicates status of the laser diode output current. Another LED indicates when the current limit trip point has been triggered.
Switches select constant current or constant power mode and photodiode range. Remote computer control is available using the USBKIT, which also allows graphing and datalogging. The LDMOUNT-5A, a 14-pin butterfly laser diode mount with integrated heat sinking, is available for simple connections between the PLDxK-CH series and the laser (not for PLD12.5K-CH).
The PLDxK-CH chassis mount laser diode drivers have a matching temperature controller family – the PTCxK-CH series, driving 2.5, 5 and 10 A of temperature controller current respectively. Up to 20 A can be delivered using the PTC10K-SL current booster.
