Viavi Solutions’ OLA-55M series of SmartClass motorized optical level attenuators are future-proof, improved variable attenuators for fiber system testing as well as installation, maintenance and production of single mode fibers. The OLA-55M series provides an implemented power meter for stabilized level controller applications.
The OLA-55M series reduce testing time with a quick start operation, requiring no warm-up time. They provide excellent overall accuracy in use with hundreds of calibrated wavelengths, reduce the need for couplers or additional instruments in test setups and minimize insertion loss due to a special optical design. Due to minimized differential group delay (DGD), the SmartClass OLA-55M series is also suitable for 40 Gbps systems.
The OLA-55M optical level attenuators can be part of a SmartClass optical test kit that contains all of the tools, including instruments and accessories, necessary to perform professional-grade power or loss tests in the field.

The WEV301 thermal solution kit can be used with following laser diode drivers and temperature controllers from Wavelength Electronics: WTCP5V5A, WTC3243, WTC3243HB, WHY5640, WLD3343, WLD3343-2L, WLD3343-3A, WLD33ND-3L or WLD3343HB. The controllers operate to 500 mA without any additional heatsinking (assuming 5 V operation). To operate up to 1 A, add the WTW002 thermal washer and the WHS302 heatsink. To operate to the full 2.2 A, add a fan WXC303 (5 V) or WXC304 (12 V). For convenience, a kit with two 0.75" and two 1" screws is available: WXC305. The WEV301 includes the WTW002 thermal washer, the WHS302 heatsink, and the WXC305 screw kit.
