NOA 72 Optical Adhesive 10g syringe

Product information "NOA 72 Optical Adhesive 10g syringe"

Refractive Index 1.6; 155 cps Viscosity at 25°C

Norland Optical Adhesive 72 ("NOA72 10g syringe")is an optically clear, liquid adhesive that will cure when exposed to either long wavelength ultraviolet light or visible light. This one part, low viscosity adhesive is 100% solids and offers advantages in optical bonding applications. The use of NOA 72 eliminates premixing, drying or heat curing operations common to other adhesive systems.

NOA 72 is recommended for bonding plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate, cellulose acetate butyrate or glass where low UV light transmission prevents curing of other adhesives. Typical applications would be bonding of compound lenses, laminating polarized film between glass or plastic or bonding leaded glass.

NOA 72 is cured by ultraviolet light between 315 to 400 nanometers and visible light between 400 to 450 nanometers. The peak absorption wavelengths are 320, 365 and 420 nm. Full cure requires 5 Joules/sq. cm of energy between 315 and 450 nm.

Fiber arrays are used for the input and output of optical waveguide devices. NTT-AT’s AT3925M, AT9390, AT9968, AT3727E and AT3728E epoxy-based optical adhesives are used for fixing the v-grooves and have realized price reductions while enhancing moisture resistance compared to conventional products. These adhesives can be polished after assembly. NTT-AT’s AT9575M (epoxy) and AT8105 (acrylate) adhesives for optical fiber fixing have gained popularity for their good workability as non-fluid adhesives. NTT-AT has executed durability tests that have shown no peeling of a fiber array after 2,000 hours at +85 °C and 85% of humidity. With viscosities that are appropriate for the usage location, the adhesives for fiber array assemblies are easy to use. While the adhesives for fixing v-grooves show fluidity, the optical fiber fixing adhesives’ consistency is that of a paste, suitable for protecting the fiber. Utilizing its refractive index control technology and optical loss reduction technology, NTT-AT has developed optical adhesives with a high refractive index adjustable to 1.6 or more. By adding high refractive index fillers, NTT-AT is even able to manufacture resins with a refractive index of 1.9. These resins are aimed at usage in the fields of optical recording, display technology, optical energy uses, etc. In addition to this series, NTT-AT also provides high refractive index resins for nanoimprint applications. NTT’s high refractive index resins are excellent in transparency in visible light domains, with haze values of 1 or less, so it is expected that they are used as a coating agent for displays and similar products. Within this series, you find acrylate-based adhesives (#18165 and #6205) as well as epoxy adhesives (E3754 and E7200). To match the particular working environment of our customers, NTT-AT provides both ultraviolet (UV) and heat curing types. NTT-AT provides refractive index customized resins to meet each customer's needs. It is possible to respond to several kinds of requests such as with/without solvent or adjusting the viscosity. Based on epoxy, these high-precision optical adhesives are available with low viscosity of 36,000 mPas (AT3916P) or with high viscosity of 180,000 mPas (AT3862P). Both adhesives show minimal position changes due to curing time and temperature. Shrinkage rate during curing is very low for this series of high-precision optical adhesives, and the thermal expansion coefficient is small. Using ultraviolet (UV) ray curing makes alignment easy. NTT-AT’s series of high-precision adhesives show excellent durability: Even after a high-temperature process at +260 °C, the adhesives’ bonding strength does not change. And no peeling occurred after 200 cycles in a simplified heat cycle test. In order to achieve high reliability, a product must clear the tests conducted by the users themselves. Nano Imprint Lithography Resins
Refractive Index 1.689-1.9; Viscosity 15, 138 mPas; Transmittance 94%-97%; UV Curing Conditions 100 mW/cm², 1, 5 min; Tg +100, +125 °C Nano imprint lithography is the next generation process technology. This simple and low-cost fabrication technology enables nano-scale patterns. NTT-AT’s high refractive index, UV-curable nano imprint lithography resins provide highly functional fine patterns with high accuracy. This series’ high refractive index (RI) helps to miniaturize optical components. Resin type #18210 features a refractive index of more than 1.7 and contains solvent, good for creating a thin film (<1 µm). Solvent-free resin type #18247 enables to produce thicker layers (>2 to 3 µm) and can create nano-size patterns without a pre-baking process to evaporate the solvent. This product maintains a high refractive index of 1.689 to 1.765, depending on the light’s wavelength, keeping a high transparency in the visible wavelength range by using non-organic fillers. With the recent increase in the refractive index of glass for AR/VR, aimed at expanding the field of view, the demand for resins to match this higher RI is also increasing. Just recently, NTT-AT has developed new 1.8 and 1.9 refractive index resins with high transparency and good nanoimprintability, able to fabricate a uniform thin film by spin coating. These resins are expected to contribute to the improvement of the flexibility in optical design. NTT-AT uses high-precision refractive index control technology in the manufacture of optical adhesives to increase the concentration of high-refractive-index inorganic nanofillers and achieve high refractive index while optimizing the resin formulation. These resins are compatible with high-refractive index glasses and can create nano-patterns with a line width of 50 nm to 10 µm by nanoimprinting. They feature high light transmission in the wavelength range from 400 nm to 800 nm. If you are looking for high refractive index resins for nano imprint lithography, please contact the AMS Technologies optical adhesives experts to find out more about our range of solutions. NBA 107 Blocking Adhesive 10g syringe
Refractive Index 1.51; 350 cps Viscosity at 25°C NBA 107 (10g syringe) is a single component, UV curing adhesive used for temporary bonding of lenses to metal polishing mounts or where bonded components need to be easily separated in the future. The adhesive cures in minutes at room temperature by exposure to long wave UV light and eliminates the heat induced strain typical of the old fashioned hot pitch blocking methods. NBA 107 is specifically formulated to provide low shrinkage and low strain to further minimize any potential strain on the lens during the blocking process. Debonding is readily accomplished by heating in hot water with a small amount of detergent or wetting agent added or with acetone. The adhesive cures only by exposure to UV light in the range of 350 to 380 nanometers. Recommended light sources include mercury lamps, sun lamps, fluorescent black lights and xenon lamps. Norland Products sells a variety of light sources optimized for curing our adhesive. The adhesive needs 5 joules per centimeter squared of long wave Uv energy to fully cure. Cure time will depend on the amount of UV energy the light source used generates at the surface of the adhesive. Typical Properties of NBA 107   Solids 100% Elongation at Failure 5% Modulus (psi) 800 Tensile (psi) 76 Hardness - Shore D 15   Shelf life of the liquid is at least 6 months at room temperature if stored in the original container away from UV light.
