FF Fixed Filters

Product information "FF Fixed Filters"

Pigtail or Removable Style; 400 to 2100 nm; Line Width 0.3 nm; Insertion Loss 0.6 dB; Fiber Type SM, MM, PM; Connector Type FC/PC, ST, SC, LC, MU, None

OZ Optics’ FF series of fixed filters transmit or block specific wavelengths of light as they travel through the optical fiber. Light from the input fiber is first collimated and passed through the filter. The beam is then focused into the output fiber.

Filter linewidths are normally defined in terms of full width at half maximum (FWHM). The standard filters used have a smooth, rounded transmission spectrum that is the result of a single Fabry Perot type cavity, simply made up of two reflectors separated by a fixed spacer of some thickness.

Other filter designs are available. For instance, flat top bandpass filters are made by stacking multiple cavities together. By increasing the number of cavities one can increase the roll-off slope therefore improving the out-of-band rejection level. Please contact AMS Technologies for custom filter designs that meet your requirements.

Fixed filters using single mode (SM), multi mode (MM) or polarization maintaining (PM) fibers are offered. In general, OZ Optics uses polarization maintaining fibers based on the PANDA fiber structure when building polarization maintaining components and patch cords. However, OZ Optics can construct devices using other PM fiber structures. OZ Optics also carries some alternative fiber types in stock, please contact AMS Technologies for availability. If necessary, OZ Optics is willing to use customer supplied fibers to build devices.

For tunable filters refer to OZ Optics’ TF-100 series of digital tunable filters, TF-100-11 series of motor driven tunable filters, TF-11 series of manually adjustable polarization insensitive tunable filtersBTF-11 series of manually adjustable variable bandwidth tunable filters or BTF-100 series of motorized adjustable variable bandwidth tunable filters.

TF-100-11 Motor Driven Tunable Filters
Ideal for OEM Applications; 1470 to 1620 nm; Line Width 1.1 nm, 0.3 nm Optional; Insertion Loss <2.0 dB; PDL <0.3 dB; Fiber Type SM, MM, PM; Connector Type FC/PC, ST, SC, LC, MU, None OZ Optics’ TF-100-11 series of motor driven tunable filters consist of a collimating optical assembly, an adjustable narrow bandpass filter and a focusing optical assembly to collect the light again. This series consist of pigtailed units with a computer interface which has options for different communication standards. The devices allow to control the wavelength at which the filter transmits work by adjusting the angle of incidence between the filter and the incident beam. The TF-100-11 series motor driven tunable filters are calibrated such that the user directly enters the wavelength to transmit via the computer interface. An RS232 interface with cable is standard. Filter linewidths are normally defined in terms of full width at half maximum (FWHM). The standard filters used have a smooth, rounded transmission spectrum that is the result of a single Fabry Perot type cavity, simply made up of two reflectors separated by a fixed spacer of some thickness. Other filter profiles are available. For instance, flat top bandpass filters are made by stacking multiple cavities together. By increasing the number of cavities one can increase the roll-off slope therefore improving the out-of-band rejection level. Please contact AMS Technologies for custom filter designs that meet your requirements. OZ Optics tunable filters utilize an optical technique to control polarization dependent loss (PDL). This new design reduces PDL to below 0.3 dB, while at the same time making the spectral response polarization insensitive. This feature makes the TF-100-11 series ideal for today's DWDM system applications. Tunable filters using single mode (SM), multi mode (MM) or polarization maintaining (PM) fibers are offered. In addition to the TF-100-11 series of motor driven tunable filters, OZ Optics provides four further series of tunable filters – TF-100 series of digital tunable filters, TF-11 series of manually adjustable polarization insensitive tunable filters, BTF-11 series of manually adjustable variable bandwidth tunable filters and finally BTF-100 series of motorized adjustable variable bandwidth tunable filters. LOR-220 OTDRs
520-1650 nm; Pulse Width 1 ns; Measurement Range 1.25-160 km; Fiber Type SM, MM, POF; Connector Type FC, SC, ST – APC or PC The LOR-220 series of fully portable stand-alone OTDRs is integrated in a Windows-based PC-platform with touchscreen interface. With the optical pulse width of only 1 ns, the LOR-220 series are the first truly portable high-resolution OTDRs specially designed for short-range multi mode (MM) or single mode (SM) fiber assemblies, found for example in airplanes, ships, automotive, defense, and similar applications. The LOR-220 is based on Luciol’s novel patented scanning photon-counting technology. It is the highest-resolution instrument of this family and has industry-leading resolution and dead-zones (10 cm event dead-zone, 40 cm attenuation dead-zone). A large variety of wavelength options (520 to 1650 nm) as well as single- and dual-output versions are available, up to four different emitters can be integrated in a single module. The OTDR model LOR-220 POF is specially designed for testing large-core optical fibers such as 1 mm PMMA (POF) or others, providing a universal tool to characterize insertion losses and fiber attenuation. The LOR-220 POF is available on a custom basis for most large-core optical fibers and it has several wavelengths options. With the models LOR-220-U (single port) and LOR-220-UD (dual detector, dual port), Luciol Instruments offers a table-top packaging option that requires an external PC for control and operation. The LOR-220-UD OTDR can combine up to four wavelengths in the range of 500 to 1650 nm in one instrument. Both models are equipped with a standard USB port for convenient and easy connection to most Windows based PC and are ideal for test bench integration, laboratory environment OTDR testing and many more applications. Luciol has added several options to the LOR-220 series of high-resolution OTDRs: The Visual Fault Locator (VFL) option enables a blinking red laser, which is connected to the same connector as the OTDR itself. The user can switch from VFL to OTDR measurement directly in the software, without removing the connecting fiber. With access to the end of the fiber under test, the VFL can be used as a fiber identifier, to verify that the correct assembly is tested. This feature is especially useful for customers testing assemblies with multiple-fiber connectors with a probe. Please note that this VFL option is available only for the LOR-220 with 670 nm OTDR wavelength, the LOR-220 POF and the LOR-220-U/UD models. The Optical Power Meter (OPM) option is calibrated at 850, 1310, 1550 and 1610 nm. It covers power ranges of -50 to +8 dBm at 850 nm and -55 to +3 dBm at 1310 to 1610 nm. Please note that the OPM option is not available for the LOR-220-U/UD models. With the Fiber Microscope (FM, FSL) option, the user can verify the surface quality and cleanliness of all optical connectors before use. The surface is shown onto the LOR screen. It can be saved and printed for reference or reporting. Advanced software application is also available. Please note that the FM/FSL option is not available for the LOR-220 POF and LOR-220-U/UD models. Models designed for aviation applications are available. Benefit from the LOR-220’s high resolution for troubleshooting, fiber monitoring and precise fault location.
