HIREC® Super Water Repellent Coatings
HIREC® Super Water Repellent Coatings

Super Hydrophobic; Variants for Outdoor & Indoor Use Available; Anti Stick Characteristics; Photocatalytic Self Cleaning EffectNTT Advanced Technology Corporation's super water-repellent material HIREC® is a dramatic new concept in the field of water-repellent materials. While traditional waterproofing prevents water from permeating, HIREC® keeps water away completely.Compared to traditional water-repellent coatings like PTFE creating a maximum contact angle between an object and water droplets of approximately 100°, HIREC® provides a contact angle of 150° or more, resulting in unparalleled water repelling performance. On top of that, HIREC® coatings also demonstrate superior effectiveness in preventing adhesion of snow, ice, and other substances.Water hitting HIREC®-coated surfaces is instantaneously repelled and disperses into small droplets with minimum adhesion. Water droplets remaining on horizontal surfaces are round and maintain a spherical shape as if they are standing up – and they instantly roll off angled or vertical surfaces, leaving a water film free object.Additionally, HIREC® 100 coatings feature a photocatalytic self-cleaning effect, greatly improving the problem of coating deterioration caused by air pollution, etc. Photocatalyst particles with strong oxidation power are part of the HIREC® coating layer – activated by sunlight (UV radiation), these photocatalysts crack oils, dust and other debris from the coating’s surface, resulting in a clean, fresh layer of water repellant coating and thus keeping its super water repellent characteristics for approximately three years.HIREC® 100 series for outdoor applications, HIREC® 300 HIREC® series for indoor and outdoor applications and HIREC®450 series for indoor or small area applications are available. This three series can be supplied as cans or canisters for brush, roller or air spray gun application, but also as handy spray cans (HIREC® 1100, HIREC® 1450NF), containing aerosol-type coating for minor repairs or very small areas. For HIREC® 100, primer coating is required, using one or two different types of primers. These primers as well as dedicated thinners for primers and coating material are included in the HIREC® 100 system of super water repellent coatings. For HIREC® 300 water-based super hydrophobic coating.HIREC® 450 requires no primer coating, but a specialized thinner is included in the HIREC® 450 system of super water repellent coatings.HIREC® is not a clear coating, the finished surface will appear opaque. HIREC® is a soft coating and therefore not tolerant against abrasion. Rubbing, scratching, or otherwise mechanically interfering with the surface can damage the coating. For this reason, we do not recommend HIREC® to be used in applications which requires constant touching, contact, or knowingly abrasive environment such as use in automobiles or other mobile units. Please also note that the repellency of the coating deteriorates from dirt, pollution, or oily substances such as mechanical oil and finger oil. For HIREC®100 series however, this product’s self-cleaning action exfoliates most of the contamination when it is exposed to sunlight and gradually regains its hydrophobicity.Key Features:Super Hydrophobic: Prevents Water Film Formation>150° Contact Angle – Leads to Unparalleled Performance“Anti-stick” Characteristics – Reduces Accumulation of Snow and IcePhotocatalytic Self Cleaning Effect – Maintains Performance for YearsApplications: Parabolic Antennas; Satellite Dishes; Radomes (Radar Domes); Bridges; Power Masts; Steel Towers; Plastics (Acrylic Resin, ABS Resin etc.); Metals (excluding Copper); Glass; Other

LC Simplex Connector Kits
LC Simplex Connector Kits

SC/PC, SC/APC; Ferrule Outer Diameter 1.25 mm; Bore Tolerance 0/+1 µm; Crimp 1.6, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 mm The LC (Lucent Connector) fiber optic cable connector is a miniaturized version of the SC (Subscriber Connector) connector. Looking somewhat like the SC, the LC connector is half the size with a 1.25 mm ferrule instead of the SC connector’s 2.5 mm ferrule. The LC optical connectors’ push/pull mechanism allows for quick and easy assembly of the inner frame into the outer housing via snap-in. Combined with a key, the rectangular shape of the connector leads to a defined rotational orientation.   Within LC connectors, the fiber is inserted in a floating, spring loaded ferrule with 1.25 mm diameter, providing good mechanical contact of the fiber’s core. While the connector is preferably used for single mode fibers in communication applications, it can also connect multi mode fibers. Due to its compact design, it can also be used as a connection for modular SFP modules (Mini-GBIC).  Optoplast’s LC simplex crimp type connector kits are suitable for application with single mode and multi mode optical fibers. Crimp is available for 1.6, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 mm fiber optic cable, while LC connector kits for Ø 900 μm buffer don’t provide a crimp option.  Optoplast LC simplex connector kits are supplied as standard in three configurations – single mode PC (blue housing, white boot), single mode APC (green housing, white or green boot) and multi mode (beige housing, beige boot). Multi mode OM3 – OM4 ST connector kits (aqua housing, black or white boot) are also available on request. For some cable diameters, users can also choose blue, red or yellow boot colours as well as various boot lengths or slotted boots (see datasheet). Other boot colours are available on request.   All these LC simplex connector kits can be ordered either as multi-piece or pre-assembled one-piece versions. 45° (white) or 90° boots (black) are available in 2, 2.5 or 3 mm as accessory, suitable for 1.6 to 2.5 or 3 mm fiber optic cable. Further accessories include a dust cap with latch for 2 and 3 mm cables as well as a total cover dust cap. Each separate component of the LC simplex crimp type connector kits is packed as standard in transparent plastic bags of 500 pieces. All components of the connector are RoHS and REACH compliant.  Key Features:  - LC/PC, LC/APC Type Simplex Connector for Single Mode and Multi Mode Fibers  - Mating Durability >500 Connections  - Cable Retention 100 N, 120 s  - 900 μm Buffer Retention 5 N, 60 s  - Vibration 10 to 55 Hz, 1 octave/min: 3 axis of 15 cycles, 0.5 h/axis, amplitude 0.75 mm  - Repeated Bending Cable 100 cycles -90°/0°/+90°/0° 5 N Load  - Repeated Bending 900 μm Buffer 100 cycles -90°/0°/+90°/0° 0.2 N Load   - Cable Torsion 1.5 to 2.5 kg for 2 to 3 mm cable diameter  - Drop 1.5 m, 5 times  - Static Side Load 1 N, 1 h  - Static Side Load 900 μm Buffer 0.2 N, 5 min  - Temperature -25 (96 h) to +70 °C (96 h), 12 cycles  Applications: Communication; Local Area Networks (LAN); Data Centers, Test and Measurement, Life Science, Laboratory
