3SAE Technologies’ high strength and high strength adjustable thermal strippers are compact, easy-to-use fiber stripping units designed to thermo-mechanically remove coatings from optical fibers.
The high strength thermal stripper supports standard 125 μm optical fibers, including 250, 400 and 900 μm coated fibers. Adjustable temperature and time settings allow it to adapt to stripping a variety of different coatings. The precision, self-centering blade design produces high-strength stripping performance unmatched by previous flat blade strippers.
The high strength adjustable thermal stripper supports optical fibers with cladding diameters from 30 to 1,000 μm, with buffer diameters up to 1,200 μm. This includes standard 250, 400 and 900 μm coated fibers. Adjustable temperature and time settings allow it to adapt to stripping a variety of different coatings and cladding sizes.
Both high strength and high strength adjustable thermal strippers are also available with an extended rail which provides extended stroke for stripping fibers up to 225 mm for various applications including gratings, couplers and combiners.
3SAE Technologies' complete line of preparation tools, including the 3SAE Technologies thermal strippers, are configurable for use with Fitel, Fujikura, 3SAE Technologies or Ericsson fiber holders. Use of fiber holders provides a repeatable handling process across strip, clean, cleave and splice equipment for high-strength splicing and improved yield.
3SAE Technologies' complete line of fiber holder compatible preparation tools incorporates the thermal strippers, USC Ultrasonic Cleaner and fiber cleavers.

It is available in two different models, the Liquid Clamp Cleaver II-S (LCC II-S) and Liquid Clamp Cleaver II-A (LCC II-A). The LCC II-S is designed for standard, non-angle cleaving, while the LCC II-A features angle cleaving with rotation up to 30°. The primary cause of bad cleave angles is torsional strain in the fiber, induced by torque from conventional clamps. This patented process features a completely torque-free clamping system, which uses a proprietary metal alloy ingot that melts at less than the boiling point of water. This lead-free, cadmium-free alloy ingot is specially formulated to solidify tightly around the optical fiber when cooled, providing torque-free clamping even of non-round fibers such as octagonal shape. A solid-state temperature control system rapidly liquifies and solidifies the alloy as needed. When the alloy ingot is depleted by use, it can be easily replaced. These unique alloy ingots are available exclusively from 3SAE Technologies. Both the LCC II-A and LCC II-S can optionally leverage an integrated manual backstop within the cleaver housing that provides enhanced cleave performance for structured fibers. Alignment of the blade, backstop, and fiber is achieved via the integrated side angle view vision system (requires PC connection). This perspective allows the user to easily verify the proper backstop and blade positioning for various fiber diameters prior to cleaving. The Liquid Clamp Cleaver LDF, LCC II large diameter fiber cleaver has an on-board LCD that provides continuous status updates and instructs the operator in the proper loading and cleaving sequence. The menu system enables the operator to easily create, modify and use up to ten cleaving programs, allowing efficient transitions between different fiber diameters.
