Optoplast’s series of ST duplex adapters connect any pair of single mode, multi mode or polarization maintaining fiber cables terminated with industry-standard, bayonet-style ST Connector Kits and minimize back reflections by bringing the fibers’ cores into physical contact. Equipped with standard phosphor bronze (multi mode), high-quality phosphor bronze (single mode) or zirconia mating sleeves (single mode), these high-quality manufactured adapters reliably align the cores of each terminated fiber, guaranteeing a very low insertion loss. After 500 connections the insertion loss variation stays below 0.10 dB.
The ST duplex adapters are available in two standard colors – beige (RAL 1013), blue (RAL 5015) – with plastic (PBT) or metal (nickel plated zinc alloy) external housing, allowing for an operating temperature from -25 to +70 °C. With their rectangular flange, these light weight products can be mounted fast and easily to panels with rectangular-shape opening in various applications and environments. Each ST duplex adapter variant is packaged as standard in units of 25 pieces in plastic blisters.
