NOA 89H Optical Adhesive 1oz bottle

Product information "NOA 89H Optical Adhesive 1oz bottle"

Refractive Index 1.51; 15-20 cps Viscosity at 25°C

Norland Optical Adhesive NOA 89H is a clear, colorless, liquid photopolymer that will cure when exposed to ultraviolet  light. Since it is a one part system and 100% solids, it offers many advantages in bonding where the adhesive can be exposed to UV light. The use of NOA 89H eliminates premixing, drying or heat curing operations common to other adhesive systems. Curing time is remarkably fast, and is dependent upon the thickness applied and the amount of ultraviolet light energy available.

NOA 89H is designed to give the best possible optical bond when bonding glass to glass substrates or as a coating.  NOA 89H also has excellent clarity, low shrinkage and a flexibility that make it superior to other materials for optical bonding. These characteristics are important in order for the user to produce high quality optics and achieve long term performance under changing environments. NOA 89H is cured by ultraviolet light with maximum absorption within the range of 310-395 nanometers.

The peak absorption wavelengths is 365 nanometers. The recommended energy required for full cure is 3.5 Joules/cm 2 for long wave UV.

Shelf life of the liquid is a minimum of 4 months from the date of shipment, refer to the package label for the actual expiration date, if stored in a cool (5-22° C), dark place in the original container.  If refrigerated, allow the adhesive to come to room temperature prior to use.

NOA 68T Optical Adhesive 1oz bottle
Refractive Index 1.54; 20,000-25,000 cps Viscosity at 25°C Norland Optical Adhesive 68T is a clear, colorless, high viscosity liquid photopolymer that will cure when exposed to ultraviolet light. Since it is a one part system and 100% solids, it offers many advantages in bonding of optical materials where the bonding surface can be exposed to light. The use of NOA 68T eliminates premixing, drying and heat curing operations common to other optical adhesive systems. Curing time is remarkably fast, and is dependent upon thethickness applied and the amount of ultraviolet light energy available. The NOA 68T is designed to give improved adhesion to many plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate and celluloseacetate butyrate. In addition to plastics,NOA 68T has good adhesion to glass and metals and can be used to bond combinations of the three. Suggested uses for NOA 68T include bonding compound plastic lenses, laminating polarizedfilm between glass or plastic, mounting plastic lenses in metal or plastic mounts and bonding cover glasses. NOA 68Thas a high viscosity which allows the user to screen printed onto substrates. Typical Properties of NOA 68T Solids 100% Elongation at Failure 59% Modulus (psi) 12,400 Tensile (psi) 714 Hardness - Shore D 50Ty Shelf life of the liquid is at least 4 months from the date of shipment if stored in a cool (5-22° C), dark place in the original container. NOA 86H Optical Adhesive 1oz bottle
Refractive Index 1.55 Viscosity at 25°C 250-350 cps Norland Optical Adhesive 86H is an adhesive that will cure optically clear when exposed to long wavelength ultraviolet or visible light (blue-violet) or heat. The adhesive has low viscosity and meets the Bellcore specifications of 85C/85RH for 2000 hours as well as being USP Class VI biocompatible NOA 86H is recommended for bonding glass or plastic. NOA 86H is cured by ultraviolet light between 315 to 400 nanometers and visible light between 400 to 420 nanometers. The peak absorption wavelengths are 325, 365 and 400 nanometers. Minor absorption wavelengths are 410 and 420 nm. Full cure requires 2.5 Joules/cm 2 .In addition to the UV cure, NOA 86H contains a latent heat catalyst that can quickly cure areas that do not see the ultraviolet light. The catalyst allows the adhesive to cure in 10 minutes at 125°C in a convection oven, or 3 hours at 80° C. Faster cure times are possible with infrared ovens. Areas in contact with air will cure tacky unless exposed to UV light or given the 125° C cure. Temperatures less than 80°C will not activate the adhesive. The advantage of the heat cure is to bring partially cured adhesive to full cure to get the maximum physical properties of the adhesive. The heat cure is not required if all the adhesive receives proper exposure to UV or visible light. Typical Properties of NOA 86H Temperature Range -125°C to 125°C Elongation at Failure 2.8 % Modulus of Elasticity (psi) 360,400 Tensile Strength (psi) 7,834 Hardness - Shore D 75 75 Shelf life of the liquid is a minimum of 6 months from the date of shipment, refer to the package label for the actual expiration date, if stored in a cool (5-22° C), dark place in the original container.
