CM96x Pump Laser Modules

Product information "CM96x Pump Laser Modules"

Single Chip; 973-977 nm; Spectral Width 0.2 nm; Max. Output Power 0.18-0.6 W; 10-pin Mini Butterfly Package; Threshold Current 50-60 mA

Within the CM96x series, II-VI Incorporated offers a variety of single-chip pump laser modules addressing all areas of low-noise all-optical amplification and power consumption requirements.

Increasingly, network providers are concerned with component density and power consumption which translates into cost of installation and cost of ownership of a network. To address this, II-VI Incorporated offers a suite of 980 nm pump lasers from uncooled, semi-cooled and traditional-cooled pumps over a set of market leading power ranges.

CM96x series pump laser modules are designed as pump sources for erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) applications. Processes and techniques of coupling the fiber to the laser allow high output powers that are very stable with both time and temperature. The CM96x series uses a 10-pin mini-butterfly (mBTF) package with mounting holes for ease of integration and thermal management, enabling smaller form factor designs. The 10-pin mBTF package is backward compatible with 14pin BTF package footprint and pinout.

CM96Z***-7* TEC-cooled, 10-pin butterfly, 980 nm pump laser modules utilize a fiber Bragg grating design for enhanced wavelength and power stability performance. This product has been designed to ensure superior wavelength locking over drive current, temperature and optical feedback changes. CM96Z***-7* devices are available with kink-free output powers to 600 mW.

CML96Z***-7* is the low power consumption version of CM96Z***-7*. These pump modules operate at significantly reduced TEC and overall power consumption. CML96Z***-7* devices are also available with kink-free output powers to 600 mW.

The UM96Z***-7* high power, extended temperature, uncooled, 980 nm pump laser are II-VI Incorporated’s third-generation uncooled pump modules providing higher powers and lower consumption. These lasers enable designers to create reliable SFF single- and multi-channel, high-bit-rate per-channel amplification as well as replace traditional cooled pumps in high-power EDFA applications with reduced power consumption. The UM96Z-series is designed for uncooled operation at high temperature and power levels. Qualification of the enhanced G08 chip ensures high reliability even at 460 mW operating power and +75 °C. External fiber Bragg grating (FBG) stabilization provides excellent wavelength and power stability over the entire operating temperature range.
