Siskiyou translation stages have been designed for multiple applications. The three different types of stages - dovetail slide, ball bearing and crossed roller - have characteristics which dictate their application. A primary feature of all of them is the adherence to the modular by design concept. By maintaining both external and mounting dimensions in common increments they can easily be incorporated into other systems. And, since many of the stages can be active by several different methods, one has the choice of precision within the same assembly.
