RAYTELA™ Plastic Optical Fibers
Multi Mode, Step Index; 650 nm; Core Diameter 240-2,980 µm; Cladding Diameter 250-3,000 µm; Coating PE, PVC, Polyamide, PP, None; Numerical Aperture 0.46-0.58 Toray Industries' plastic optical fiber products, RAYTELA™, boast highly reliable transmission with low attenuation and excellent noise-resistant characteristics. RAYTELA is a multi mode, step index optical fiber with low loss and high reliability. Compared to optical fibers with cores made of silica or composite glass, plastic optical fibers (POF) are entirely made of polymer materials. Not only coatings and jackets, but also fiber core and cladding consist of polymers. While showing higher attenuation and lower transmission capacity, plastic optical fibers are less brittle, lightweight, more flexible, easier to handle and very cost-effective. The polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) that makes up the core portion of the RAYTELA fiber uses a clean polymer made with integrated manufacturing from monomer through to fiber production. A special fluorine containing polymer is used for the cladding. Plastic optical fiber cords, curl cords or cables with PE, PVC, or PP jacket are also available. The cable diameter ranges between 5 and 6 mm. These lines have good resistance to heat, physical determination and chemicals. Furthermore, light guides with up to 64 fibers, bundled and jacketed for a temperature range up to +105°C are available. They are suitable for light sources of medical devices and display lighting for art objects among others. The portfolio comprises also plastic optical fiber cords for broadband communications and high NA fibers. Key Features: Multi Mode, Step Index Core Material: Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) Core Diameter: 240 to 2,980 µm Cladding: Polymer Cladding Diameter: 250 to 3,000 µm Coating: PE, PVC, Polyamide, PP, None Coating Outside Diameter: 1.0 to 4.4 mm Cable Outside Diameter: 5.0, 6.0 mm Numerical Aperture (NA): 0.46 to 0.58 Attenuation at 650 nm: ≤0.15 to ≤0.30 dB/m Temperature Range: -55 to +70/+105 °C Flexible Lightweight Applications: Lighting; Decoration; Telecommunications; Short-range Data Communications; Industrial; Automotive; Medical Illumination; Endoscopes

POP-311 Portable Polishers
High-speed, Portable Polisher for Field Assembly; Connector/Ferrule Type SC, MU, FC, LC, MT, MTRJ, Custom; Radius of Curvature 10 to 25 mm; Apex Offset <50 µm; Return Loss >50 dB NTT Advanced Technology’s POP-311 series of high-speed portable polishers is suitable for installing optical connectors or extending optical fibers at field work site. Its cylinder jig allows for on-site polishing / re-polishing of MPO connectors and single fiber connectors. High polishing quality equivalent to that of factory use polishers can be achieved. The POP-311 high-speed portable polishers are able to polish connectors at very high velocity – up to 700 revolutions per minute. The POP-311 series is also suitable for re-polishing of MT connectors. When optical fiber connectors due to be laid are found to be damaged, on the spot repolishing makes them ready to be used. Also, LC-Duplex connectors can be simultaneously polished without dismantling. With only three to five processes, polishing MPO connectors and single fiber connectors can easily be done on location. For example, the polishing procedure from adhesive removal to advanced PC polish takes about 150 seconds (SC connector/terminal), while advanced PC polish by re-polishing takes only about 50 seconds (SC connector/terminal). Applicable connectors/ferrules are SC, MU, FC, LC, MT and MTRJ type optical connectors and glass ferrules. A broad range of attachments is available for the various different connector types. Since the attachments are the same as for the factory use ATP-3000 polishing machine, they can be used for a wide range applications such as MPO connectors and single fiber connectors (UPC/APC), and polishing of all types of capillaries and fibers. Widely accessible rechargeable nickel hydride battery (AA) or alkaline dry battery (AA) can be used as power supply. Key Features: Suitable for MT, MTRJ, SC, MU, FC and LC Connectors High Quality- Battery Operated High Speed Polishing Applications: Optical Connector Polishing (for re-polishing and new polishing processes)

MP820/MP821 Power Film Resistors
0.020 Ω to 10.0 kΩ; ±1%; 20 W; TO-220 Style; Power Film Caddock Electronics’ MP820/MP821 series of power film resistors in a TO-220 style power package feature a metal heat sink mounting tab. Within the MP820/MP821 series, 61 different power film resistors are available with standard resistance values ranging from 0.020 Ω to 10.0 kΩ.   The MP820/MP821 series power film resistors are constructed with Caddock Electronics’ Micronox® resistance film fired onto a flat ceramic substrate which is thermally bonded to the copper heat sink tab. The resistor body is then molded with a high temperature molding compound to finish the metal tab TO-220 package. The lead wire attachment and resistance element geometry are configured to provide outstanding non-inductive performance.   Use your thermal design experience with power semiconductors in TO-220 style power packages to help you get the most out of this unique family of power resistors. The thermal design issues are the same where power handling capability is based on the case temperature which is maintained in your design.  At +25 °C case temperature, the MP820/MP821 series allow up to 20 W, derated to zero at +175 °C. Standard tolerance is ±1%, other tolerances (±0.5%, ±2%, ±5%, ±10% and ±20%) are available for most resistance values on request.  Key Features: TO-220 Style Power Package 20 W at +25 °C Case Temperature, Derated to Zero at +175 °C Metal Heat Sink Mounting Tab Resistor Element Is Electrically Isolated From the Mounting Surface Non-Inductive Design for High-speed Switching, Snubbers and RF Applications Temperature Coefficient Starting at -20 to +50 ppm/°C (5.00 Ω and Above) and up to 0 to +300 ppm/°C (0.049 Ω and Below) Operating Temperature -55 to +175 °C Very Low Inductance: 10 nH typical
