Plate Liquid to Liquid Heat Exchangers available from Stock
AMS Technologies’ brazed plate heat exchangers allow for efficient heat transfer between two circuits of fluids, for example from clean water to facility water, from evaporating refrigerant to water or from condensing refrigerant to facility water.
The heat exchangers’ stainless steel plates have a robust herringbone shape and are brazed with either copper or nickel. The copper brazed versions are suitable for water and have a pressure rating of 31 bar, whereas the nickel brazed versions are suitable for de-ionized water and a maximum pressure of 16 bar. The copper brazed heat exchangers can be used in refrigerant circuits as evaporators, for example in recirculating chillers, or as water-cooled condensers.
Our range of brazed plate heat exchangers available from stock comes in dimensions of as small as 204 x 53 x 74 mm up to 328 x 80 x 90 mm and with cooling capacities ranging from 11000 W to 19000 W.
More versions are available on request, featuring specific cooling capacities of up to 1600 W/K (cooling capacity per initial temperature difference for countercurrent water flow on both sides) – please contact the AMS Technologies heat exchanger experts to discuss a customized plate liquid to liquid heat exchanger solution meeting your project’s requirements.
Related Products
Our plate liquid to liquid heat exchangers can be used in combination with a broad range of other vapor compression components provided by AMS Technologies, including our miniature rotary as well as oil-free linear compressors available from stock, but also further compact and efficient 5 mm and 7 mm finned tube condensers and evaporators or controller boards available on request and customized to meet your requirements, allowing to build compact and well-dimensioned cooling systems. These components are used in compact recirculating chillers, compact air coolers and dehumidifiers or OEM cooling units in medical, analytical or mobile equipment.
Our miniature rotary compressors feature low-vibration as well as low-noise operation. For smooth and easy temperature adjustment, these miniature rotary BLDC compressors with cooling capacities up to 2000 W are continuously speed-controllable via the frequency of a square wave signal. The inverter board for 24 VDC operation is included, a test function board for easy evaluation is also available as an option. Our series of oil-free linear compressors feature an extremely quick response time and the oil-free circuit, making these linear compressors suitable for high-performance micro channel evaporators that can be used to cool laser diodes.
Our AMS Technologies OEM controller board controls the compressor, fans, pumps, eventually valves for refrigerant or water regulation and heaters for various applications. It communicates via RS232/485.
AMS Technologies’ thermal management experts are happy to discuss your customized vapor compression cooling solution, based on this portfolio and tailored exactly to your project’s requirements. Contact AMS Technologies today to discuss your application-specific solution.

A brazed plate liquid to liquid heat exchanger (BHE) provides a compact, efficient and durable solution for transferring heat from one liquid to another liquid. Stacked plates made from metal (mostly stainless steel) are the main heat transfer components within these liquid to liquid heat exchangers. These plates are typically corrugated to enlarge the surface area and to allow for higher heat transfer.
A set of single plates is stacked by brazing them together using materials like copper or nickel. Brazed plate heat exchangers feature an efficient counterflow design that allows 90% of the material to be used for heat transfer. As a result, this type of heat exchangers can be up to 80-90% smaller in size than a conventional shell-and-tube design. Braze material and plate corrugation patterns can be configured for different operating liquids and system requirements, providing rugged, efficient and long-lasting heat exchanging solutions that withstand even the most demanding environments.
