Product Portfolio
Sensors are required for many and various applications, whether to accurately measure electrical currents, detect the level of solids or fluids in a tank, monitor the pressure and temperature in a closed container, collect information on the flow of liquids in a pipe or for many other control and measurement applications.
AMS Technologies’ range of sensor products is suitable for use in medical, commercial, scientific, instrumentation, energy monitoring and many more industrial areas. Our sensors can be found in everything from industrial washing machines to systems for current measurement in particle accelerators.
Within our range of sensor technologies you can find current sensors for rather static current profiles in addition to very high dynamic versions for measuring transient current pulses. Robust flow switches and flow sensors as well as liquid level switches and sensors are suitable for a variety of liquids, including aggressive or corrosive reagents. Pressure sensors and temperature sensors with a broad range of options regarding sensor material, measurement range, output signal or process connection allow to choose the best sensor for your project.
If you should not find a standard sensor that suits your needs, please contact the AMS Technologies sensor experts to discuss a custom sensor solution tailored to your specifications.
Definition
Sensors (from Latin “sentire”, meaning "to feel") are technical components that can quantitatively or qualitatively measure physical or chemical properties of their environment. Examples for physical properties that can be measured using sensors are temperature, pressure, humidity, radiation intensity (brightness), colour, sound level, current or acceleration.
Sensors measure these quantities utilizing physical or chemical effects and convert them into electrical signals (e.g. voltage, current, frequency) for further processing. Accurate and repeatable results of high-quality sensor technology enable improvements in control, reliability and quality for almost any industrial and scientific devices and systems. In automation and production environments, sensors are vital to improve productivity as well as safety.
