OPM-200 Digital Directional Inline Optical Power Monitor/Meter

Product information "OPM-200 Digital Directional Inline Optical Power Monitor/Meter"

1250 to 1620 nm; Tap Ratio 1%; Return Loss 70 dB; Dynamic Range -32-+20 dBm; Directivity 35 dB; Fiber Type SM, PM; Connector FC/UPC

As part of its series of inline optical power monitors and tap couplers, OZ Optics offers the OPM-200, a digital inline optical power monitor. Based on a groundbreaking, patented fabrication process, these all-fiber taps and monitors provide a way to easily measure the average signal intensity through an optical fiber via tapped light channeled into a built-in photodiode, without interrupting the traffic. The photodiode produces a signal proportional to the optical power traveling through the fiber with high directivity.

The OPM-200 power monitor integrates a novel inline optical tap with a low-noise InGaAs detector in combination with a high dynamic range logarithmic amplifier. The built-in microcontroller processes and displays the power transmitted through the selected fiber channel on an LCD display. The optical tap modules and display units are independently calibrated, so any display unit can be plugged into any tap module, and the measured power will be automatically calibrated. A low-voltage circuitry design ensures a long lifetime for the built-in battery. The detector module can be calibrated for either a single wavelength or for a broad wavelength range. Optional, RS-232 and analog outputs are also available.

The OPM-200 inline power monitor is ideal for network monitoring, out of specification alarms, and/or DWDM systems for real time monitoring and feedback. OZ Optics’ inline taps are highly directional and ideal for monitoring traffic traveling in one direction only. They may also be used for measuring return losses instead of transmitted power. In the same product family, OZ Optics now provides OEM single channel optical power monitors and can offer multi-channel power monitors for DWDM system integration on demand.

Handheld Optical Power Meters; 800 to 1700 nm; Power Measurement -75 to +26 dBm; Accuracy ±0.25 to ±0.35 dB; 3.5-in Color LCD Touch Screen; 2014/00.xx Type, PC, APC Adapters With a 100 dB dynamic range, Viavi Solutions’ OLP-85/85P series of SmartClass fiber inspection-ready handheld optical fiber power meters is perfect for any fiber-optic network power or loss test application. These optical power meters combine pass/fail fiber inspection and optical power measurement (OPM) into one solution. Their 100 dB dynamic range and their high accuracy over the entire range means that the OLP-85/85P series perfectly fit applications where low power or very high power needs to be measured. In addition to providing a full day of battery-operated field use, the optical power meters are perfect for fixed installations in central offices, production environments and for laboratory workbenches because they can operate via mains or be remotely controlled via USB 2.0 and Ethernet. The OLP-85/85P series is compatible with the P5000i digital analysis microscope so users can check fiber end-face quality and get pass/fail acceptance results with one button push. The OLP-85P features an integrated patch-cord microscope (PCM) for added value and improved workflow efficiency. Combining Viavi Solutions’ OLS-85 optical light source and OLP-85/85P optical power meters provides the greatest functionality, and automated tests avoid handling errors and speed testing. Automatic functions, such as auto-lambda and multi-lambda test, enable users to receive information about emitted wavelengths, automatically set wavelengths on the compatible power meter, and accurately measure up to four wavelengths simultaneously. Users can also easily save test results (power, loss, fiber inspection) with real-time stamps on the OLP-85/85P series to generate comprehensive certification reports.
