Accessories for Mightex collimated LED light sources comprise dedicated focusing modules and interchangeable collimating lenses, lightguide, microscope and fiber-optic adapters, microscope illumination tubes, connector tubes, a thread converter, empty filter/optics holders, a lightguide holder for converting Type-B LCS into Type-B GCS as well as accessories for beam combiners like a push-pull adjustable mount, a 11 mm LCS adapter or connecting plates. Six different ACC-LCS-F-xx focusing modules for collimated LED light sources are available, comprising modules for 11 to 48 mm clear-aperture collimated LED light sources with working distances from 5 to 100 mm. Eight ACC-LCS-C-xx(-B) additional interchangeable collimating lenses for collimated LED light sources are used to produce different beam sizes with the same LED light source base: Four models with clear apertures of 11, 22, 38 and 48 mm as well as four variants for Type-B light sources. Four different LCS-LGA22-xxx lightguide adapters can be used to couple light from a 22-mm-diameter collimated LED light source into a lightguide. Variants for lightguides with ferrule diameters of 5, 6.35 (1/4”), 7 and 11.1 mm as well as a ferrule length of 15 mm or greater are available. Eight different ACC-BC25-xxx microscope adapters allow to connect LCS collimated LED light sources and beam combiners to microscopes. Single LCS light sources as well as LCS-BC25 beam combiners or WLS sources can be connected to microscopes like Leica DMI, Olympus (IX & BX, other), Zeiss Axioskop, Nikon Eclipse, Eclipse E200 and LV-UEPI/2/A. A LCS-FPC-ADP-SMA fiber-optic adapter can be used to couple light from a LCS-Series collimated LED light source (22-mm aperture) into a fiber patchcord and accepts SMA connectorized fiber patchcords. Three different ACC-BC25-MIT-xxx microscope illumination tubes allow to couple a beam combiner or LCS-Series collimated LED light source into the infinity optical path of microscopes. The lengths of these microsope illumination tubes are designed for one beam-combiner distance (up to two LCS sources) or two beam-combiner distances (up to four LCS sources). Two different empty filter/optics holders for 22 mm clear-aperture collimated LED light sources are available (ACC-LCS-H-22, ACC-LCS-EH). Both are excitation filter holders for 25.4 mm (1”) diameter filters with up to 5 mm thickness, with ACC-LCS-EH featuring a threaded output end to connect to Mightex LCS-LGA22-xxx lightguide adapters or ACC-BC25-xxx microscope adapters. Mightex’s GCS-LGH-B-0515 lightguide holder is used to replace the collimating lens on a Type-B LCS in order to convert it to a Type-B GCS. This holder is suitable for lightguides with a ferrule diameter of 5 mm (typical 3-mm-core lightguides) and a ferrule length of 15 mm or greater. Mightex’s ACC-LCS-BC25-PPM push-pull mount for multi-wavelength beam combiners is user-adjustable. Currently, Mightex’s multi-wavelength beam combiners can only be used to directly combine 22-mm-diameter collimated LED light sources. For 11-mm-diameter collimated LED light sources, an ACC-BC25-011 mechanical adapter can be used to attach the LED sources to the beam combiners, before the 11-mm-diameter collimated LED sources can be combined. Three different ACC-BC25-CP-01/02/03 connecting plates are available to connect two or more multi-wavelength beam combiners together, with four screws included. For example, a lightguide collimator can project light from a lightguide into a uniform spot in free space. High-numerical-aperture aspherical lenses are used for precise collimation and maximum light throughput. The collimators feature adjustable focus from ~100 mm to infinity. Various lightguide ferrule diameters are supported. Customization is available for other ferrule diameters. Accessories for Mightex’s GCS-Series of lightguide-coupled LED light sources comprise an electrical cable (product number ACC-GCS-C05), a heatsink for 3 mm core liquid lightguides (product number ACC-LLG-HS-03), a range of liquid lightguides and lightguide adapters as well as lightguide collimators. Nine different LLG liquid lightguides are available in three wavelength ranges (300 to 650 nm, 340 to 800 nm and 420 to 2000 nm), with 3 or 5 mm core for 5 or 7 mm ferrule diameters respectively, a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.59 and lengths of 1 or 2 m. The AvaLight-DH-S is Avantes’ most powerful deuterium-halogen source. Like the DHc, the DH-S is also a combined deuterium and halogen light source, capable of transmitting light in the UV/VIS/NIR-range, but has 35 times more halogen output and up to 300 times more deuterium power. The source has a prominent 656 nm deuterium peak which can limit dynamic range (see Avalight-DH-S-BAL as an alternative). It includes a focusing lens assembly, to fully utilize the possibilities and size of your fiber. The AvaLight-D-S is a deuterium light source only, making it a great option for measurements in the UV range, 190 to 400 nm. The AvaLight-D-S-DUV version starts even lower at 175 nm, for your deep-UV experiments. This version also offers twice the intensity at 200 nm. The output of the AvaLight-D(H)-S light source is optimized for fibers or bundles up to 600 µm. For calibrations in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible (VIS) range (200 to 1099 nm), the AvaLight-DH-CAL is the best solution. This source can be used with all AvaSpec spectrometers to calibrate for absolute spectral intensity. It is supplied with a built-in diffuser, a cosine corrector (CC-VIS/NIR) with SMA adapter and a CD-ROM containing the calibration files in ASCII format. Two calibration files are included: one for irradiance calibration over the full range (200 to 1099 nm) and one over the visible and near infrared range (350 to 1099 nm). The light source delivers a continuous spectrum with high efficiency. The highest stability is in the ultraviolet (UV), visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) range, from 200 to 2500 nm. It’s a compact, stabilized halogen light source with adjustable focusing of the fiber connection, maximizing output power at the desired wavelength. The light source also has adjustable output power to provide extra power or longer bulb life. A filter-slot mounted on the front of the AvaLight-HAL-Mini accepts 1” round or 2” x 2” square filters, to block specific ranges of wavelengths or instantly lower the intensity. The adjustable focus on the AvaLight-HAL-Mini helps you getting the most out of your light source: it makes sure all possible power is transmitted through your optical fiber. Bulb replacement is easy and can be done in a matter of minutes. The lamp’s optical output can be controlled through a dongle at the rear or from your computer. At low setting, the lamp has a colour temperature of 2,700 K but provides over 13,000 hours of lifetime. The standard or medium setting changes the colour temperature to 2,850 K and provides 50% more power with a bulb lifetime of 4,000 hours. The high-power setting gives a colour temperature of 3,000 K, doubles power compared to the long-life setting and gives you up to 1,000 hours of lifetime. The AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini features an internal TTL-shutter, controllable from your AvaSpec spectrometer. This gives you the ability to use the auto-save dark option in AvaSoft spectroscopy software.
