NTT-AT’s high refractive index, UV-curable nano imprint lithography resins provide highly functional fine patterns with high accuracy. This series’ high refractive index (RI) helps to miniaturize optical components. Resin type #18210 features a refractive index of more than 1.7 and contains solvent, good for creating a thin film (<1 µm). Solvent-free resin type #18247 enables to produce thicker layers (>2 to 3 µm) and can create nano-size patterns without a pre-baking process to evaporate the solvent. This product maintains a high refractive index of 1.689 to 1.765, depending on the light’s wavelength, keeping a high transparency in the visible wavelength range by using non-organic fillers. With the recent increase in the refractive index of glass for AR/VR, aimed at expanding the field of view, the demand for resins to match this higher RI is also increasing. The adhesive cures in minutes at room temperature by exposure to long wave UV light and eliminates the heat induced strain typical of the old fashioned hot pitch blocking methods. NBA 107 is specifically formulated to provide low shrinkage and low strain to further minimize any potential strain on the lens during the blocking process. Debonding is readily accomplished by heating in hot water with a small amount of detergent or wetting agent added or with acetone.The adhesive cures only by exposure to UV light in the range of 350 to 380 nanometers. Recommended light sources include mercury lamps, sun lamps, fluorescent black lights and xenon lamps. Norland Products sells a variety of light sources optimized for curing our adhesive. Refractive Index 1.315; 15 cps Viscosity at 25°C Norland Optical Adhesive 1315 is clear liquid adhesive that will cure when exposed long wavelength ultraviolet light. NOA 1315 is recommended for bonding for glass to glass. Adhesion is also good to cellulose acetate butyrate. NOA 1315 is cured by ultraviolet light between 320 to 450 nm. Full cure requires 6 Joules/cm 2. The adhesive exhibits oxygen inhibition when used exposed to air. To overcome this the adhesive must be cured under an inert atmosphere, such as nitrogen.
