OPTAplus designs and manufactures custom cylindrical lenses. Cylindrical lenses refract light in only one dimension – so a converging lens focuses the light on a straight focal line instead of on a focal point as in a spherical lens.

OPTAplus’ cylindrical lenses are available as plano-concave or plano-convex types, either spreading or focusing the beam of light. Further versions available are rod lenses or doublets/triplets for applications like focusing polychromatic light in a single direction with minimum chromatic aberration.

The cylindrical lenses can be manufactured in dimensions ranging from 2.0 up to 250.0 mm. Bigger models can be realized on customer request. The lenses can be manufactured in a variety of materials: optical glass, quartz glass, Borosilicate glass and colour-filter glass, as well as crystals like Si, Ge, MgF2, CaF2, Sapphire and others.

OPTAplus provides a wide variety of coatings for the NIR, VIS and UV for single wavelength or spectral area on customer’s request:

  • Anti-reflection (AR) Coatings: Single-layer AR Coating, V-coating and Multi-layer Coating
  • Reflective Coatings: Metallic and Dielectric Coating
  • Polarizing Coating
