Accessories for Mightex collimated LED light sources comprise dedicated focusing modules and interchangeable collimating lenses, lightguide, microscope and fiber-optic adapters, microscope illumination tubes, connector tubes, a thread converter, empty filter/optics holders, a lightguide holder for converting Type-B LCS into Type-B GCS as well as accessories for beam combiners like a push-pull adjustable mount, a 11 mm LCS adapter or connecting plates. Six different ACC-LCS-F-xx focusing modules for collimated LED light sources are available, comprising modules for 11 to 48 mm clear-aperture collimated LED light sources with working distances from 5 to 100 mm. Four different LCS-LGA22-xxx lightguide adapters can be used to couple light from a 22-mm-diameter collimated LED light source into a lightguide. A LCS-FPC-ADP-SMA fiber-optic adapter can be used to couple light from a LCS-Series collimated LED light source (22-mm aperture) into a fiber patchcord and accepts SMA connectorized fiber patchcords. Three different ACC-BC25-MIT-xxx microscope illumination tubes allow to couple a beam combiner or LCS-Series collimated LED light source into the infinity optical path of microscopes. The lengths of these microsope illumination tubes are designed for one beam-combiner distance (up to two LCS sources) or two beam-combiner distances (up to four LCS sources). Two different empty filter/optics holders for 22 mm clear-aperture collimated LED light sources are available (ACC-LCS-H-22, ACC-LCS-EH). Both are excitation filter holders for 25.4 mm (1”) diameter filters with up to 5 mm thickness, with ACC-LCS-EH featuring a threaded output end to connect to Mightex LCS-LGA22-xxx lightguide adapters or ACC-BC25-xxx microscope adapters. Mightex’s GCS-LGH-B-0515 lightguide holder is used to replace the collimating lens on a Type-B LCS in order to convert it to a Type-B GCS. This holder is suitable for lightguides with a ferrule diameter of 5 mm (typical 3-mm-core lightguides) and a ferrule length of 15 mm or greater. Mightex’s ACC-LCS-BC25-PPM push-pull mount for multi-wavelength beam combiners is user-adjustable. Currently, Mightex’s multi-wavelength beam combiners can only be used to directly combine 22-mm-diameter collimated LED light sources. For 11-mm-diameter collimated LED light sources, an ACC-BC25-011 mechanical adapter can be used to attach the LED sources to the beam combiners, before the 11-mm-diameter collimated LED sources can be combined. Three different ACC-BC25-CP-01/02/03 connecting plates are available to connect two or more multi-wavelength beam combiners together, with four screws included. Accessories for Mightex’s GCS-Series of lightguide-coupled LED light sources comprise an electrical cable (product number ACC-GCS-C05), a heatsink for 3 mm core liquid lightguides (product number ACC-LLG-HS-03), a range of liquid lightguides and lightguide adapters as well as lightguide collimators. Nine different LLG liquid lightguides are available in three wavelength ranges (300 to 650 nm, 340 to 800 nm and 420 to 2000 nm), with 3 or 5 mm core for 5 or 7 mm ferrule diameters respectively, a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.59 and lengths of 1 or 2 m. The AvaLight-DH-S is Avantes’ most powerful deuterium-halogen source. Like the DHc, the DH-S is also a combined deuterium and halogen light source, capable of transmitting light in the UV/VIS/NIR-range, but has 35 times more halogen output and up to 300 times more deuterium power. The source has a prominent 656 nm deuterium peak which can limit dynamic range (see Avalight-DH-S-BAL as an alternative). It includes a focusing lens assembly, to fully utilize the possibilities and size of your fiber. The AvaLight-D-S is a deuterium light source only, making it a great option for measurements in the UV range, 190 to 400 nm. The AvaLight-D-S-DUV version starts even lower at 175 nm, for your deep-UV experiments. This version also offers twice the intensity at 200 nm. This source can be used with all AvaSpec spectrometers to calibrate for absolute spectral intensity. It’s a compact, stabilized halogen light source with adjustable focusing of the fiber connection, maximizing output power at the desired wavelength. The light source also has adjustable output power to provide extra power or longer bulb life. A filter-slot mounted on the front of the AvaLight-HAL-Mini accepts 1” round or 2” x 2” square filters, to block specific ranges of wavelengths or instantly lower the intensity. The adjustable focus on the AvaLight-HAL-Mini helps you getting the most out of your light source: it makes sure all possible power is transmitted through your optical fiber. Bulb replacement is easy and can be done in a matter of minutes. The lamp’s optical output can be controlled through a dongle at the rear or from your computer. At low setting, the lamp has a colour temperature of 2,700 K but provides over 13,000 hours of lifetime. The standard or medium setting changes the colour temperature to 2,850 K and provides 50% more power with a bulb lifetime of 4,000 hours. The high-power setting gives a colour temperature of 3,000 K, doubles power compared to the long-life setting and gives you up to 1,000 hours of lifetime. It produces continuous or pulsed spectral output at different wavelengths. Some standard excitation wavelengths are shown in the downloadable datasheet, but other wavelengths are available upon request. The sources have an SMA-905 connector to couple to fiber optics. The AvaLight-LED can be used as a DC source or pulsed with a programmable pulse width modulation (PWM), supplied by an AvaSpec-USB2 spectrometer (IC-DB26-2 cable needed).
