AFM50/125/250Y Acrylate Coated MM Fiber
300 - 2400 nm; low numerical aperture; Max Operating Temperature 85 °C; Core Diameter 50 µm; Coating Outside Diameter 250 µm Step Index multi mode fiber with pure fused silica core and fluorine doped silica cladding. With a low concentration of hydroxyl groups (OH), this fiber of the Anhydroguide™ series from Fiberguide Industries is suitable for wavelengths in the visible to infrared domain. It is primarily used in photonics applications where individual or bundled large core (> 50μm) multi mode fibers are needed for the transmission of optical energy. This “AFM” fiber features a low numerical aperture (0.12), resulting in a full acceptance angle of 14°. With a cladding diameter of 140 µm and a silicon buffer coating layer, the minimum bend radius recommended by the supplier is 13 mm (short term) or 25 mm (long term) respectively. The fibers are 100% proof tested using a 4-axis bend method with 100 KPSI. Typical applications are bio-analytical sensing, medical lasers, aerospace/defense, spectroscopy, nuclear plasma sensing or industrial laser systems.

MMFHA Hermetic MM Optical Fiber
850, 1300 nm; Core Dia. 50 µm; Cladding Dia. 125 µm; Dual Acrylate Coating; Hermetic Layer; -60 to +85 °C Corning’s MMFHA hermetic multi mode (MM) optical fibers are designed for applications requiring improved fatigue resistance, high useable strength and excellent resistance to hydrogen permeation into optical fibers. For hermetic single mode fibers please refer to Corning’s SMFHA fibers. Corning’s specialty designed hermetic layer provides a protective barrier to help shield the glass from exposure to hydrogen, water and corrosive chemicals while maintaining optical qualities comparable to standard fibers. The properties of the hermetic layer increase the fatigue performance of the fiber five times compared with non-hermetic fibers. Corning’s hermetic layer is a thin layer of amorphous carbon that is bonded to the glass surface of the optical fiber. The fiber is manufactured with Corning’s patented Outside Vapor Deposition (OVD) process. The MMFHA hermetic multi mode specialty fibers offer high reliability and consistent performance for a variety of applications. Key Features: No Hydrogen Aging at Room Temperature to +85 °C Low Attenuation Outstanding Consistency and Uniformity Using Patented Outside Vapor Deposition (OVD) Process Efficient Coupling Dual Acrylate Coating System Provides Excellent Protection and Superior Mechanical Robustness Multi Mode (MM) Fibers Optimized for 850 nm and 1300 nm Wavelengths Inquire for Other Glasses Applications: Hydrogen-rich Environments; Long-distance Undersea Links; Sensors; Increased Fatigue Resistance for Tight Bend Applications
