MQ Series High Voltage AC/DC Power Supplies
Input Voltage 102-264 VAC; Max. Output Voltage 1-60 kVDC; Max. Power 300 W; Efficiency >85%; Voltage Regulation <0.005% + 0.5 mV/mA; Current Regulation <0.1% XP Glassman’s MQ Series of 300 W high voltage AC/DC power supplies feature flexible embedded controls with low ripple and noise. They are air insulated, fast response, chassis-mount units with tight regulation and extremely low arc discharge currents. A broad range of models is available with output voltage ranges from 0 to 1 kVDC through 0 to 60 kVDC. The MQ Series is a family of sophisticated, medium-power, high voltage AC/DC power supplies that complies with current international safety and EMI directives. XP Glassman has packaged this series as a space-saving module to avoid the expense of front panels and displays. However, no compromises in performance and/or operating features have been made. The result is a power supply series that offers outstanding value for a wide range of demanding applications. The MQ series features “air” as the primary dielectric medium. No oil or encapsulation is used which would impede serviceability or increase weight. Internal circuitry constantly senses and integrates arcs that occur over a given time. In the event a system or load arcing problem develops and exceeds factory-set parameters, the power supply will cycle off in an attempt to clear the fault and then automatically restart after a preset “off dwell time”. The MQ Series’ high voltage output is inhibited for a short period after each load arc to help extinguish the arc. Ripple is less than 0.025% of rated voltage at full load. Continuous, stable adjustment from 0 to rated voltage or current by panel-mounted 10-turn potentiometer with 0.05% resolution or by external 0 to 10 V signals is provided. Integral RS-232, USB and optional Ethernet communications provide remote control program and monitor. Automatic current regulation provides protection against all overloads, including arcs and short circuits. A connection made on the interface connector allows selection of either constant-current or current-trip operation. Standard accessories for the MQ Series include a detachable 2,4 m shielded high voltage coaxial output cable, line cord, null modem cable and USB cable. The MQ Series supplies with 230 VAC input option (198 to 264 VAC RMS, 48 to 63 Hz) are fully compliant with the following European directives: EN61000-3-2, Line Harmonics EN61010/ IEC61010, Safety EN61000-6-4, Conducted and Radiated Emissions EN61000-6-2:2005, Conducted and Radiated Immunity 2011/65/EU, Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Key Features: Maximum Output Power: 300 W Maximum Output Voltage: 1 to 60 kVDC Compact Module Air Insulated Low Ripple: <0.025% of Rated Voltage + 0.5 V RMS at Full Load Tight Regulation Constant Voltage/Constant Current Operation Arc Quench & Arc Count RS232, USB & Optional Ethernet Control Static Voltage Regulation: <0.005% + 0.5 mV/mA for Specified Line and Load Variations Dynamic Voltage Regulation: <2% of Rated Voltage Automatic Current Regulation Protects Against All Overloads, Including Arcs and Short Circuits Current Regulation: <0.1% From Short Circuit to Rated Voltage at Any Load Condition Maximum Output Current: 5 to 300 mA Input Voltage: 102 to 132, 198 to 264 VAC RMS, 48 to 63 Hz, Single Phase Efficiency: >85% Typical at Full Load Output Voltage Accuracy: 0.2% of Rated + 0.5% of Setting Output Voltage Repeatability: <0.1% of Rated Voltage Stored Energy: 0.35 to 3.5 J Voltage Monitor: 0 to +10 VDC Signal for 0 to Rated Voltage Current Monitor: 0 to +10 VDC Signal for 0 to Rated Current Stability: 0.01%/h After 0.5 h Warm-up, 0.05% per 8 h Polarity: Positive or Negative Polarity With Respect to Chassis Ground Signals Provided on the Remote Interface Connector: Safety Interlock, Voltage & Current Program/Monitor, HV Enable, HV Status, Fault Status, +10 V Reference, I/V Mode Status, Local Control Options: 100, 230 VAC Input, Slow Start Ramp, Zero Start Interlock, 0 to 5 V Voltage & Current Program/Monitor, Arc Count and/or Quench, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Virtual RS-232 COM Port Over Ethernet Network 3 Year Warranty Approvals: IEC61010-1:2010; EN61000-6-4:2007, Class A EN61000-6-2:2005 Operating Temperature: -20 to +40 °C Dimensions: 120.7 x 203.2 x 520.7 mm Applications: High Voltage, High Power Applications; Photonics; Healthcare (Analytical, Diagnostics, Detectors); Industrial; Semiconductor Manufacturing; Research; Other
